The IMF filter is the most innovative technology available today. The patented vessel geometry, including true tangential vessel entry coupled with the upper radial fluidizers and the lower 360 degree annular ring, make the IMF the only media filter that assures 100% fluidization of the media during backwash. Total fluidization results in a much more thorough cleaning of the media, enabling PEP to use finer grains to take retention to sub-micronic levels. The filter builds differential pressure in the filtration mode until it reaches a pre-set level. At this point the actuators are activated, reversing the valves into the backwash mode. Once the media is cleaned, the valves move back into the filtration mode automatically.
